Millwey Rise 1st X1 5 – Colyton 2nd X1 1

The weekend saw another good win for Millwey FC, making it three in a row.

'Very pleasing' was the verdict from manager Mark Turner.

Rise got off to a flying start with Luke Thurlow scoring seconds into the half with a cross come shot that deceived the keeper.

He then went on to complete his well taken hat trick inside 20 minutes. Shane Featherstone then headed home another to make it four at half time.

The second period became more evenly balanced with Colyton pulling a goal back. Millwey began making in-roads into the Colyton defence with both Nathan Womersley and Thurlow hitting the upright.

Womersley eventually put the game to bed adding Millwey's fifth with a delightful lob over the keeper,

This was an all-round, satisfying performance by 'Rise' with Thurlow taking the man of the match award.
