Millwey Rise first team played the last in a series of pre season friendlies, defeating Ilminster A 10-0 at Cloakham Lawns, writes Dick Sturch.
Levi Hoole led the scoring honours with a four goal haul whilst Mark Pike hit a hat-trick. Goals from Tyler Warren, Zak Meaker and Danny Larcombe completed the scoring.
The youthful Ilminster side never ceased in their endeavour, especially the keeper who members on the Tea Hut Terrace agreed was man of the match.
The home side played some fluent football which certainly bodes well for the forthcoming season which begins this Saturday at Cloakham Lawns. History will be made when Millwey Rise FC play their first ever game in the Fresha League Devon and Exeter League against Royal Oak Kick (3pm).
Millwey Reserves begin their campaign on the following Wednesday ( August 26) with a mouth-watering home game against the team from over the hedge, Axminster third team!
