Chard and District Swimming Club took part in the Last Chance Avalon meet.

Chard and District Swimming Club took part in the Last Chance Avalon meet, and what a weekend it was. The club finished in sixth position out of 46 competing teams, which was great as the competition was very tough!Lauren Harrison obtained a club record for the 1500m freestyle: 21-14-38, which was a 12 years and 14 years club record.Top six places were achieved by Jamie Pullinger, 10, 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m fly, 200m backstroke, 200m individual medley; Marsha Emery, 9, 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m fly, 200m individual medley; Abigail Dare, 12, 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50 fly; Adam Reid, 9, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke; Elisha Hawkins, 9, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke; Lauren Harrison, 12, 1500m freestyle; Jake Hallam, 13, 50m backstroke; Paul Harrison, 10, 200m breaststroke; Saskia Osborne, 16, 50m backstroke and Luke van den Barselaar, 13, 50m backstroke.Other participants were:Elsie Emery, Jenna Emery, Jack Fish, Ben Fowler, Steph Hallam and Catherine Ryder.
