Two ladies’ competitions were run side by side this week, the Ping competition was won by Jane Watts and Tricia Swindell with 33pts, with runners up Jackie Seager and Sue Ritchie on 32, writes Andy Wagner.

Also played was a 4BBB Stableford, a combined division competition bringing in winners Diana Gee and Elizabeth Davies with 35pts, followed by Tricia Swindell and Jane Watts with 33. Third and fourth places went to Jackie Seager and Sue Ritchie, and Elizabeth Ward and Mona Carter, separated only on count back, both gaining 32 points.

Sixty-seven seniors turned up to play a Stableford- a change from some of the more exotic forms played this year but it was not a high scoring day. Only four players managed a below-handicap score. Pete Morgan won the first division with 39pts, Morgan was followed by Keith Crane on 37. John Martin, Angus Falconer and Malcolm Matthews filled the other prize positions. The second division was led by Howard Clayton on 39 points, Dave Price had 37 and Steve Blundell, Bob Underwood and Ron Jones took the other prizes.
