On Friday, 38 Seniors took part in the annual Stableford in aid of Prostate Cancer research, writes Janet Dack.

in a close finish, the winner, by a point was Dave Morgan (19) with 40 points. In addition to winning, Dave now qualifies to represent the club in the regional finals to be held at Long Sutton later in the year.

Second place went to Dave Weston (23) with 39 points and third place to Hugh Willis (22) with 36 points. There were five twos and amazingly two members, not only had two twos each in the round but also had them at the same holes, namely the seventh and 14th. The other two was bagged by Tony Strong.

●On Sunday, the main club competed for the Seve Trophy, a Stableford format with the best two scores to count.

In first place with 79 points were Alex Palmer, Stuart Dickson and Reece Hales, with Brian Board and Cyril and Anthony Hellier in second place with 75 points
