Netballers held up by weather
PUBLISHED: 11:18 30 January 2013
Once again Honiton netball fell foul of the weather – but this time it was now at Honiton that was the problem – meaning only two games at Colyton took place.
Flamingos 37, Signs South West 23
OPG 56, Tip Top Trees 15
The top two teams were in action again tonight, with Flamingos up against Signs South West, whilst OPG met bottom side Tip Top Trees.
Flamingos maintained their winning ways and their 100 per cent record against SSW who are having a good season.
With Debbie Wheeler playing well Signs South West were 9-7 ahead at quarter time. Unfortunately for them by half way the scores were reversed with Flamingos 16-14 to the good.
With Rachel Burrows doing well for them, the Flamingos maintained this form and ended the game winners by 37-23, with SSW happy to collect a point for their efforts.
OPG kept within striking distance of Flamingos when they recorded a very comfortable big win over Tip Top Trees, the young side who have struggled in the top flight.
With Cara Monaghan at GA in great form for the OPG they were 27-7 ahead at half way.
The 3Ts worked hard and Molly Simpson at GA made the most of her opportunities to score, but unfortunately the chances did not come her way often enough and OPG ended the night with a 56-15 win .
