While most people were recovering from an evening of celebration to welcome in 2022, four AVR’s enjoyed the Chard Flyer, a 10k road and lane race on a dull, wet but mild day.
The winner of the race was Michael Sandiford in 34:54. 1st AVR over the line in a superb time of 36:31 was Duncan Staddon, in 4th place winning Male Vet 40. Richard Hardy came in 9th in 38:13 and Ian Kinnersley was 26th in 45:54 followed by Eleanor Wood 2nd Lady home, 29th overall in 47:50. Thank you to Chard running club for a well marshalled and organised event.
268 runners decided that the best start to Christmas Day was to take part in the Seaton parkrun at 9am and Flurry Grierson was 1st in a remarkable 16:32 with Grey Grierson of Cambridge Uni Hare & Hounds 2nd, 17:05, just beating Simon Davis of Exeter Harriers by three seconds.
