AVR’s Graham Newton tried something a little different when he travelled to South Devon.
Newton took part in the Ashburton Mud and Sweat race.
The run took place at River Dart Country Park with the 10k course taking n in a variety of natural and man-made obstacles, including wading through chest high water to board a pirate ship, several river crossings and plenty of mud. Graham did well to finish in 56.52 to win the over 50 male solo grand vet prize.
Sue and Mike Venn also ran on Sunday, at the Taunton.
The weather was a little warm for running this 10k road race, but both AVRs managed a good run, with Sue being very pleased with her time of 57:45 closely followed by husband Mike, in 1:02:57.
