Offwell Rangers 2nd XI played host to Honiton Town 2nds on Saturday, in a good natured game.

Honiton opened the scoring from a poorly defended corner, and soon followed with a second from a badly-cleared pass back which was well struck into an open goal. Both teams battled hard, and Offwell ended the first half the better of the two teams and were eventually rewarded when Jamie Westwood scored a screamer from 25 yards, making it 2-1 at half time.

The second half presented opportunities for both teams which they failed to capitalise on, and with 10 minutes to go Offwell were rewarded when James Dingle headed in their second goal. Offwell picked up the pace again and scored. With seconds to go Honiton were given a corner and, although every player went up, they failed to score and the ref blew the final whistle, making it 3-2 to Offwell.

Offwell’s manager Dane Spiller, was delighted with his team’s performance. To come back from 2-0 down to win, shows the determination and strength of this team. New players are welcome to the club, training is held on Wednesday evenings at Offwell recreation ground, from 6pm.
