Offwell Rangers lost their opening game of the new season.

Rangers went down 5-3 at home to Chagford Reserves.

It was all a big disappointment for Rangers followers for the side had looked to be in good shape in the pre-season matches, winning a friendly against Seaton Town 5-1.

Manager Scott Phillips said: “It was not our best day. Sadly, for whatever reason, we just did not look up for it at any stage and they (Chagford) deserved to win. That said we all k now what we did and got wrong and we’ll address that in the mid week training session and make sure the same mistakes don’t go into the next game with us!”

Tip Top Trees kindly sponsored the Man of the Match award for Rangers and they opted for Dan Williams to be the first star man of the new term.

Williams scored all three Rangers goals in the Chagford defeat.
