The gentlemen of Honiton played a Bisque version of the popular Stableford format on Sunday - a thinking man s game with careful consideration needed to make the most of every shot of your handicap allowance.

Flexing the brain muscle best on this occasion was Ed Reece with 39 points, finishing one point ahead of John Fleetwood, and two points ahead of Merv Blackmore.

Congratulations go to the Honiton Palarait team, who returned victorious from Stover Golf club cradling the coveted Palarait Plate.

In the morning, Honiton defeated Crediton 3 to 2 in a very close contest, with one game needing extra holes to find a winner.

Honiton then defeated Sidmouth in the final, again 3 to 2, with Paul Hill and Barry Dunn clinching victory on the 19th hole.

The winners of the Drawn Mixed Greensomes Competition playing for the Goblets and their photograph displayed in the clubhouse were Sue Ritchie and Chris Poole with 33 points.

Second place went to Christine Whitley and Paul Ritchie with 32 points on c/b from Dot Grove and Robert Hendrick.
