Every golfer believes they need perfect greens to practice the art of putting, writes Andy Wagner.

This weeks Honiton Seniors’ Stableford competition was played as the greens were recovering from their annual hollow tine and it might have been thought putting would be difficult, not a bit of it though as eight players recorded a ‘two’ and Pat Purtell a hole-in-one on the second.

Drinks all round from Pat were some consolation for the ball prize reduced to four per player and Pat will have no excuse for bad timekeeping as he will receive a watch courtesy of the ‘How did I do’ system.

The prize winners of the competition were in Division One, Angus Falconer 40 points, Mike Kent 39, John Frith 38, Chris Street 37 and David Morgan 37.

In Division Two John Pawley came out on top with 41points followed by Mike Jones 40, John Ward 37, Brian Morrison 37 and Bob Milton 35.
