Newton St Cyres 3, Feniton 2 Feniton Under-16s can consider themselves unfortunate not to have brought something back for their visit to Mid Devon for this Exeter and District Youth League meeting.
Both the Feniton goals were scored by Samuel Peck who was cruelly denied a hat-trick when his last minute free-kick found the back of the net only to be chalked off by the match official.
Feniton boss mark Tippin said: “ I was so pleased with what the team produced. That was without doubt one of our best displays of the season and even when that late goal was disallowed there were no issues with the players. Their attitude was spot on,. It was a great game played between two well-matched sides and had we got the draw I think that would have done justice to the shift the team put in.”
Newton St Cyres coach Ramonde Nathan said: “It was a cracking game played between two even sides and contested in a superb sprit. Feniton certainly played their part.”
