Four members of Axe Valley Pedallers visited the Velodrome in Newport as part of a group from Clevedon Cycling Club.
The velodrome is one of only three internationally recognized indoor velodromes in Britain and is Wales’ official national velodrome. With its spectacularly-banked 250 metre cycle track, it regularly plays home to British National competitions, performances from international competitors and is regularly used by the British National team for practice sessions.
The world class cycle track is also used for those enthusiasts looking to test and perfect their cycling skills – sessions cater for the complete novice through to regular clubman’s racing in a ‘Track League’.
For the Axe Valley Pedallers it was a “tough three hour session” said the club representative Alistair Cope, he continued, “it’s a fantastic venue and whatever happens, come wind rain, hail or snow, you know that you can ride and ride hard!”
