Axe Valley Pedallers have two forthcoming events dedicated to raising funds for Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
Axe Valley Pedallers have two forthcoming events dedicated to raising funds for Devon Air Ambulance Trust. The charity and the Devon Air Ambulance logo are incorporated on the group's recently purchased and distinctive yellow cycling shirts. The first is on Thursday, May 29, and coincides with the group's weekly ride when they meet at the King's Arms pub in Seaton. From 6.30pm onwards some members plan to cycle the 'Axe Valley Loop' which consists of cycling from their meeting place to Axmouth, Boshill Cross, Colyford and back to Seaton. The loop is just over five miles long and the aim is for members to cycle a cumulative total of 700 miles and raise £700 in one evening! The prime reason for the figure 700 is that each time the Air Ambulance is called out to an incident, it costs DAAT £700 for each flight. Members will also be visiting the Kings Arm's and Winston's (Seaton), Harbour Inn and Ship Inn (Axmouth), and the White Hart and Wheelwright Inn (Colyford) in an attempt to secure donations. On Friday, May 30, from 7.30pm a skittle night is planned at the White Hart in Colyford. For further information on the group's planned events for the rest of 2008, please their website www.axevalleypedallers.co.uk or meet the group on any Thursday evening at 6.30pm at the King's Arms pub for a variety of rides.
