Axminster Town Ladies survived the drama and tension of a penalty shoot-out to secure a place in the final of the Devon Cup.

Taking on a very accomplished Exeter City Development side, the young Grecians demonstrated plenty of potential in tricky conditions, but this was matched by the poise and determination of the Axminster Ladies.

Josie Stebbings and Lorna Button scored the goals to earn the Tigers a 2-2. It was then over to goalkeeper Hebe Dyer to emerge the hero of penalties, as Axminster squeezed through with a 6-5 victory from the spot-kicks.

West Exe Park Rangers await Axminster in the final following their 2-0 win over the Activate club from Plymouth.

In the Devon Women’s Football League Eastern Division, Budleigh Salterton produced some excellent attacking football to defeat Seaton Town 7-2. A strike from Chloe Hartrey was enough for Crediton to win 1-0 at Ottery St Mary.
