Honiton golfer James Pickard won the Titleist-Footjoy Young Professionals League at Woodbury Park with a sparkling seven-under-par 65.

Pickard played the last 54-holes without dropping a shot and he also fired seven birdies in the first 14 holes!

Adam Frayne (Yelverton) and Ben Martin (Exeter) were just one shot back on another good day for scoring at the regional headquarters.

Matt Lockey (East Devon) and amateur M Coles carded 46 points to win the betterball on count back from Pickard and G Browne.

Pickard’s success means he wins a Titleist contract for next year.
