Chard and District Swimmers were on form, competing in the first ever Three Towers Level 3 meet, at Millfield Pool, Street.

Numerous South West Regional Qualifying Times (SWRQT) and South West Regional Consideration times (SWR) were achieved. These times allow them to qualify for the forthcoming South West Regional Age Groups which will take place during 2011. Medals were awarded to the top six swimmers in each individual age group from 9-13 yrs and the top three swimmers in age groups 14yrs, and 15 yrs & over.

Jake Hallam, 14, got his first two SWRQTs winning the 50m butterfly in a time of 28.39, a 14yrs & under club record and the 100m butterfly in a time of 1-02.84. Jake also won the 50m and 200m breaststroke and was second in the 200m butterfly.

Abigail Dare, 13, got her first SWRQT. winning 50m backstroke in a time of 33.81. Abi also got three SWRs winning the 400m I/M in 5-41.47, a 14yrs & under and Open club record, the 100m backstroke, 1-12.02 and second in the 200m I/M in a time of 2-40.06.

Abi also won the 100m butterfly and the 50m freestyle.

Luke Van Den Barselaar, 14, secured three SWRs in the 200m Freestyle with a time of 2-10.95 (1st), in the 100m backstroke, 1-07.25 (1st) and in the 200m backstroke, 2.26.83 (2nd). Luke also won the 200m I/M= and 3was third in the 50m breaststroke.

Hannah Pullinger, 14, secured her first two SWRs, winning the 100m freestyle with a time of 1-02.87 and the 200m freestyle ,2-18.99 Hannah also won the 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke, with second in the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, and 50m butterfly.

Other Individualwinswere also obtained by Bea Brett, 10, in the 50m backstroke, with a second in the 50m butterfly and fifth in the 200m backstroke and 200m I/M. Tamsin Edge, 10, won the 50m breaststroke, was third in the 200m breaststroke and fourth in the 200m I/M.

●Lauren Harrison, 13, was second in the 100m freestyle, third in the 50m, 200m, 400m freestyle, fourth in the 100m backstroke, 200m I/M and 400m I/M and fifth in the 100m butterfly. Charlie Kendall, 10, came second in the 50m breaststroke, fifth in the 200m backstroke, sixth in the 200m I/M and eighth in the 50m freestyle. Jamie Pullinger, 12, came 3rd in the 100m Backstroke and 200m Backstroke , 5th in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke and 6th in the 50m Breaststroke and 200m Individual Medley. Ben Fowler, 14, came 3rd in the 100m Backstroke and 200m Backstroke and 5th in the 100m Freestyle. Leo Kindred, 9, came 3rd in the 200m Breaststroke and 8th in 50m Backstroke

Lewis Pearson, 10, came 4th in the 200m Individual Medley and 5th in the 50m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke, 7th place in the 200m Backstroke and 8th in the 50m Breaststroke.

Mollie Simpson, 12, came 5th in the 50m Freestyle, with Susan Ross, 11, coming 5th in the 100m Freestyle and 8th in the 100m Backstroke, whilst Paul Harrison, 11, came 6th in the 50m Backstroke. Daniella Edge, 11, came 6th in the 200m Butterfly and 8th in the 100m Butterfly. Iain Ross, 11, obtained 8th place in the 50m Freestyle with Jay Kindred, 13, finishing 8th in the 200m Freestyle and 200m Breaststroke.

Ryan Adair, 10, and Ben Greenslade, 10, also took part with some personal best times being achieved.
