Only nine out of 73 scheduled matches were played to a finish on a rain-ruined second weekend of the Tolchards Devon Cricket League campaign, but one key Premier Division match was completed and it sets up a 2nd-v-1st meeting this Saturday.
Early leaders Paignton, who dodged the showers to pip champions Tiverton Heathcoat by two wickets chasing 119 at Queen's Park, travel to the Maer Ground with a nine-point advantage over Exmouth.
Sidmouth - their game against Hatherleigh was a washout - find themselves 24 points off the pace as they head for Cornwood, while Bovey Tracey (3rd) entertain Sandford (4th) at the Recreation Ground.
Other key East Devon fixtures include: A Division - Bradninch v Seaton; C East - Clyst St George v Ottery St Mary, Sandford v Upottery, Sidmouth II v Whimple, Braunton v Exmouth II; D East - Clyst Hydon v Sidmouth III.
