Feniton Bowling Club held their opening drive on Sunday and, despite the very difficult weather of late, had a good day. The Rev Cate Edmonds blessed the green, followed by our President Fred Blackmore MBE putting up the first wood. Forty-six members were then able to play a very enjoyable game of 10 ends and were then joined by some welcome visitors for a very enjoyable tea. The green bowled well considering the weather, the grounds men once again having done a grand job, so it looks good for the rest of the season.Members now look forward to a busy season with May having many commitments, including friendlies and touring teams visiting, as well as the Devon President and Ladies' President's fixtures. On May 23, the club have an Auction of Promises at the Honiton Motel. Over 70 items are promised including 10 driving lessons, a car service and valets, bed and breakfast, tickets for Exeter Chiefs and Exeter Races, dinner at local restaurant, windows etc cleaned and many more very interesting and very worthwhile items. So it looks like we could all be kept very busy.
