Paul Ritchie made the most of the good conditions to top division one in the Honiton seniors’ monthly medal, writes Andy Wagner.

He made a net 65 and duly paid the price - a reduction in his handicap!

This was offset by the prize of credit in the professional’s shop and he was presented with an embossed glass tankard.

Runner-up David Hughes scored 67, as did Bob Bilyard. Keith Lloyd and Pat Purtell took the last prizes in that division.

Ashley Murray won division two with a net 68 followed by Tom Tunnicliffe with a 69. Jack Phillips beat Norrie Fleet on count back, both on 70 and Howard Clayton took the last prize with a 71. It was good to see Harold Cook back on the course. You can’t keep a good man down!
