FORMER international rugby star, Bill Beaumont, dropped in to show his support for Honiton Rugby Club when he joined members for a special meet and greet.

Bill Beaumont, who is vice-chairman of the IRB (International Rugby Board), enjoyed a tour of the grounds during his visit to the town and was also on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures with members.

“The visit went very well. We felt very proud and honoured to have him come down to the club and show his support,” says the rugby club’s president, Dave Todd.

He said the former England Rugby captain showed a keen interest in how the club is progressing this season.

The senior team is currently playing well in the Devon and Cornwall League.

Bill also presented Mr Todd with a signed rugby shirt and ball, which will be auctioned off to raise money for the club.
