With no action for the Honiton 1st XV the spotlight for the Lacemen fell on the 2nd XV and their trip to Tiverton, who returned to Allhallows with a splendid 36-3 success to their name.
After a first quarter that saw action at both ends of the pitch, it was the Lacemen who broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with Ben Kidson scoring an unconverted try.
On the half hour the home side scored what proved to be their only points of the game when they slotted a penalty.
A second try for the Lacemen extended their lead, with Kyle Blackmore the scorer, but again the conversion was missed.
Right on half-time, Elliot Parrot scored the third Honiton try and a Ben Kidson conversion sent them into the interval with a 17-3 lead.
Five minutes into the second half, Robin Bennett crossed the Tivvy whitewash for an unconverted try, but, soon after, Tom Church ran in a try and this time Kyle Blackmore rifled the conversion between the uprights.
The final Honiton try was scored by Bennett, crossing the whitewash for the second time and another Blackmore conversion rounded off the scoring on a highly successful afternoon in Mid Devon for the Honiton 2nd XV.
