Blackmore the star as Honiton Musketeers Under-7s are beaten at Chard

Chard 7, Honiton Musketeers 19

Honiton Musketeers Under-7s started brightly against Chard on Sunday morning, Jacob Wright and Henry Williams served up some great support play and capitalised on some good offloads to score inside the first six minutes.

However, the rest of the game was dominated by both defence’s, both teams coming up with the big hits at important moments and slowing each others ball down at the rucks and maul.

Chard scored at the end of the first half to set up a tense second half which

was only alleviated when Oliver Upperdine went over to give Honiton some

breathing space.

Whilst not as fluent in attack, the defence which is improving week by week helped the Musketeers to grind out another win.

Solid games in the front row from Finney, Thompson, Mandrupson and Man of the Match, hooker Finley Blackmore whose line out throwing and general loose play was excellent.
