Chard 1st XV had no game last weekend as it was a free Saturday to be used purely as a catch-up day for any previously postponed matches, writes Glyn Hughes.

There were only two games in Western Counties (West) with Kingsbridge defeating Devonport Services 12-10 and Tiverton were beaten 22-12 at home by Sidmouth.

All teams in the division have now played 20 matches with Chard sitting eighth, sitting seven points clear of the second relegation berth, which is currently shared by Crediton, Paignton and Torquay,.

All three of those clubs have 33 points so far.

This coming Saturday (March 3), Chard are at home to Sidmouth (2.30pm).

Chard 2nd XV and the 3rd XV were both in action on the final Saturday of February and both suffered heavy defeats.

The 2nd XV slipped to a 72-12 loss at Winscombe 2nds and the third XV went down 71-28 at Wyvern 1st XV.

This coming Saturday, Chard 2nds are away at Bridgwater (2.30pm) and Chard 3rds are at home to Taunton 3rds with the match being played at the Crewkerne Road ground where kick-off is at 2.15pm.
