Chard getting ready for big games to come

Chard are set to face much tougher opposition than the Sidmouth side they defeated last weekend, writes Glyn Hughes.

They are due to come up against teams at the top of the table.

On Saturday they have an attractive home game against Hornets who beat them comfortably earlier in the season at Weston.

The game kicks off at 2.30pm and the team will be hoping for a big turnout of home supporters.

Those supporters wishing to attend the pre match lunch are reminded to let Helen Broome know in advance.

The postponed game against St Austell will be played at Chard on Saturday, February 1.

After the game the France versus England game is being shown live in the clubhouse.

The 2nd XV game away at Midsomer Norton last weekend was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and Chard 3rd XV were given another very frustrating walkover because Castle Cary were unable to raise a team.

This weekend Chard seconds are away against Old Redcliffians and Chard 3rds are away against Crewkerne. Both games kicking off at 2.30pm.
