Honiton Rhinos Under-8s entertained Wellington for a series of matches.

The Somerset side arrived with a large contingent and so three matches were played.

In the opening encounter the Rhinos were in superb form as Jake Down crossed the white-wash three times and there were two from Logan Symons and one each for Sam Olliff and Bobbie Perrett as Rhinos racked up a 7-2 success.

It was a rather leggy Rhinos’ that took to the pitch for games two and three. The sticky conditions took their toll on proceedings as the fresh legged visitors struck two wins at 10-4 and 8-4.

There were some terrific performances from the Rhinos. Harry Branch, Eiren Enticott, Ellli Sparks, Jack Vernon, Charlie Beer and Reuben Lidster all contributed to the matches underlining what a good little squad the Rhinos are.

Jake Downs proved to be the leading scorer of the day with his five tries. Next up for the team is this Sunday’s (January 24) trip to Exmouth.

The team are always delighted to welcome new players. Anyone with children interested in playing rugby please contact Helen Olliff on 07933 155636.
