Sidmouth Colts entertained Exeter Saracens at Sidford in blustery conditions.
Sidmouth Colts entertained Exeter Saracens at Sidford in blustery conditions. The home side hadn't played for two weeks due to last week's cancelled game with Okehampton. They had an abundance of players turn up complete with a good number of U16s looking for a run out. Sidmouth initially started with the strongest 15 and it didn't take long to go over for the first try of the 11-run in throughout the afternoon. The inexperienced Saracens side worked hard all afternoon and, with a few Sidmouth boys putting on the red shirt for the afternoon, helped to make a game of it.Sidmouth try scorers were Nex, Hodge, Robinson, Huggett, Derryman 2, Pyne 2, Dobson 2 and Whelan, who added a try and six conversions. Thanks to Otis Hudson, Rob Cole & Ollie Pyne for swapping allegiance and all credit to Saracens for continuing with what has been a difficult season for them after losing some top players to other local clubs.Sidmouth hope they can build for next year to be as competitive as they were on previous meetings.Pyne and Jack's Bar Man of the Match went to Will Dunford for a solid performance at scrum half. Next week the Colts are off to Torquay for a tough game against a side who are lying 2nd in the Southern League.
