Former Honiton and Sidmouth RFC player, Nathan Hannay, who plays rugby for Jersey, is celebrating as his side has just finished champions of National League One.
Hannay was educated at Honiton Community College and developed an interest in rugby as a young lad.
He started off at Honiton Rugby Club and then moved to Sidmouth, where he was given great encouragement by the late Tug Wilson.
Wilson got Nathan into the county team and then encouraged him to play at the All Blacks in Launceston.
Subequently Hannay was offered signings by three clubs and Wilson advised him to go to Jersey, where he has settled.
The team has been promoted up through three divisions and second row player Hannay is now looking forward to playing in the Championship, the second tier of national rugby, next season. After a break, players return to training early this month.
