Honiton RFC 2nd XV managed to beat the freeze-up away to Exeter Saracens.

Saracens had a slightly weakened team and Honiton a slightly stronger team than normal, strengthened by a few first team players because the senior side’s match at Allhallows was cancelled because of a frozen pitch.

Try scorers for Honiton were Oliver Rice and Glenn Channing (both hat-tricks), Andy Canniford (2), Luke Kenny (2), and Steve Lane.

Channing kicked four conversions and George Meadows five, plus a penalty.

Man of the Match was Jack Sloman.

Warmer weather forecast for the coming weekend should see sporting fixtures return to normal.
