Honiton Hawks Under-9s visited Cullompton on Sunday morning for their latest round of matches.

Hawks travelled with a squad of nine players: Byron Chalmers, Harry Haysom, Kyle Moore, Liam Webber, Logan Symons, Mason Peek, Miles Salter, Taylor Prettejohn and Will Parris.

Two 8-a-side games with rolling substitutions of 10 minutes each way were played.

Both teams contributed to an entertaining morning of rugby with both teams defending well with some excellent, sometimes ferocious, tackling.

This forced the opposing attacking team to go through several phases of play and a large proportion of the tries scored by each team were hard earned. Fittingly for what were two evenly matched sides, both games ended in draws with one ending 4-4 and the other 5-5.

Kyle Moore won the Best Effort award for another fine performance following up similar consistent performances over several weeks. This included an excellent try-saving tackle on a Cullompton player who looked odds on to score.

To round off an excellent contribution, young Kyle also scored a try.
