Honiton Hawks Under-10s hosted Paignton on Sunday morning in what was the first ever meeting between the two sides.

Hawks coach Steve Haysom said: “This was the best and most physical opposition that the Hawks have faced this season so far, and was a game that the boys needed in their development.”

In an entertaining encounter, both sides showed great commitment and endeavour, especially at the breakdown area where strong rucking led to a number of turnovers.

The tries scored by each team were hard earned. However, the Hawks’ slightly stronger defensive efforts resulted in them winning by nine tries to six.

On duty for the Hawks were Archie Trott, Arran Hansford, Byron Chalmers, Charlie Wheeler, Elliot Arscott, Harry Evans, Harry Haysom, Kyle Moore, Liam Webber, Miles Salter and Taylor Prettejohn.
