Honiton second XV were comfortable 54-18 winners when they took on hosts Exeter Saracens second XV.

The Lacemen fielded several new recruits making their debuts and they all slotted in well as the team bagged their first success of the new campaign.

Admittedly, the Sarries side was struggling a bit and with Honiton blessed with subs, they leant then a few players to ensure the game went ahead. They maybe regretted this decision as the game was very much nip and tuck and at half-time they were only two scores ahead and clearly anxious.

However, the second half saw Honiton step on the gas and as the home side tired the tries kept coming.

On the score sheet for the Ton was Barry Hawking, Joe Keep and Sam Collings. Martin Keep Kyle Blackmore and Glen Harding all got a brace each to round off a good day for the twos and a good day for grass roots rugby. The Man of the Match award went to Kyle Blackmore who keeps his senior ambitions well in focus.
