Honiton Under-8s enjoyed another excellent morning of rugby as they met Sidmouth.
Both clubs had sufficient numbers to be able to field two teams that played each other.
Whilst the sun was present – and in full shine – an icy wind chilled a number of fingers and hands as the teams put on another entertaining display for the parents on the touchline.
Impressive running and passing from both teams led to a high number of tries. Fast feet and clever running lines were features of the action. There was also an abundance of tireless and brave tagging that managed to stop many a run ending in a score.
After the matches had been completed, Honiton head coach Tom Hattan said: “I’m pleased to see that our passing and running continues to improve, resulting better teamwork, and some great tag rugby.”
All in all, it proved to be a great morning and both sets of players were richly deserving of a post match hot dog and a chance to thaw out in the clubhouse!
Nick Cunningham, of the Honiton U8s, said: “Thanks go to everyone that works so hard at the club to make it all happen.”
