Honiton Titans Under-10s recorded two wins against Chard and did so without conceding a single try.

Led by captain James Goodman, some intense pressure and team work in defence formed the basis of a 40-0 win in the Titans’ first game.

There was also some excellent tries too which came about through great rucking and support play. Cameron Nicks led the way with four tries while Jonny Glover crossed for a brace while Tom Elliott and Isaac Lidster dotted down.

Zac Lancaster stood out with some superb rip and runs and Joe Gray, in only his third game impressed with some terrier like running.

The second game was much closer, but still resulted in a comfortable 15-0 win for the visitors. Glover was once again among the tries with a couple while Gracie Billing also crossed.

Making up the Honiton squad were Tom Elliott, Archie Hawkins, Oliver Olliff and Alexander Barback.

Coach Simon Lancaster was very proud of his side and said afterwards: “Every player put in an incredible effort and not once was anyone isolated in either game.

“Several players played out of position in the second game but they still worked hard for one another to ensure we didn’t let them score and for much of both games they were stuck in their own half.”
