Sidmouth Under-10s emerge victorious in splendid match with Withycombe

After four weeks of training Sidmouth Under-10s came out on top in their opening competitive match of the season beating an equally well focused Withycombe side, scoring seven unanswered tries.

The game started with much enthusiasm and great tackling from all, in particular Freddie Barker, Will Cockayne-Cottrell, Laurence Walker, Thomas Fletcher and Oliver Mitchell.

The ball was played well with good communication and passing; there were great runs from Will Crick and Ryan Cozens whose excellent running lead to him scoring the first three tries; Gabe Roberts build on that with great straight running to the line, scoring a further two tries for Sidmouth.

Louis Cornish, whose excellent passing also gave him the opportunity to score one try and Freddie Barker scoring the last try, saw Sidmouth to a 7-0 success.

The whole team contributed to a good win with all players getting the ball and passing it to good effect. Laurence Walker was voted Man of the Match for his all round good play.
