Whimple are eighteen points clear of the D Division relegation sports after they landed a four wicket win at Bridestowe.
No such joy for Whimple II though, beaten by five wickets by visiting Kentisbeare II. Simon Van Grudgings (72), Luke Witton (37() and Will Bardot (27) led Whimple to 228.
Alex Evens took 2-20 as the visitors sealed a five wicket win.
This weekend the Whimple 1st XI entertain a Whitchurch side who begin the day third bottom, four points clear of the drop zone and just 18 shy of Whimple.
Whimple II travel to meet Exmouth III at Newton Poppleford.
