The Honiton ladies were once again lucky with the weather last week, writes John Pawley.
The ‘lucky’ element is that the course was open. However, as the course was hit by early morning fronts on Wednesday the scheduled stableford qualifier became a non-qualifier as all holes had temporary greens.
Although sunny, it was bitterly cold and only eight brave ladies entered the competition. All divisions were joined together for allocating the prize money and there were just two. Jackie Seager was first with 33 points followed by Sue Ritchie with 30 points.
Other ladies did take the opportunity to enjoy the golf and improve their winter eclectic scores.
