Searle wins last Stableford

Seniors’ Golf - The start of the summer season of club matches resulted in a narrow home win for Lyme against Sherborne by 3½ to 2½, writes Steve Percival.

Ladies’ Open Golf Day - The season of summer opens started with an event held in aid of the Lady Captain’s charity.

A total of 71 ladies took part in the event which was played as three ball event with a variety of prizes as well as raffles and sweeps resulting in the raising of over £1,000 in aid of the British Legion Poppy appeal. Lady Captain Julia Collins and her team of volunteer helpers ably assisted by club staff worked tirelessly throughout the day to make the event an outstanding success.

Ladies Peugeot Foursomes Competition - The excellent weather and rapidly improving course conditions meant that the preliminary round of the Peugeot golf foursomes competition was exceptionally well attended. The winners with 38 pts were Anne Humphries and Susan Moore with Jo Marsh and Hanna Jacobsen in second place with 36pts. The winners now have to wait to find out if their score was good enough to make the regional final.

Junior Golf - The final winter Stableford of the year saw a good field card some highly creditable scores. In first place with 38pts was Bradley Searle (28). Second with 34pts was Mat Watson (26) with Cameron Moss (17) in third place with 31 pts.

Junior Medal Competition: 1, Stuart Wight (11) net 68; 2, on countback, George Yorke (8) net 70 ; 3, Kai-To Li (10) net 70.
