St Martins 3, Seaton Town 1 Town lost a game they had looked for long periods like winning.

Leading by a first half goal from Jonny Wilkinson, they were undone by a couple goals that had a big suggestion of off-side about them! The second came with 10 minutes remaining after which Town threw bodies forward in search of an equaliser only to be caught on the break late on.

Town boss Josh Stunell said: “We played well to a point. However one element of the play that was most unsavoury for me was that we got outworked which is not something I associate too often with a Seaton Town team. We know so much about them (St Martins) and we were well aware that one of their biggest strengths is the way they work hard individually and collectively and we did not match that. On another day this would have been a score draw of the highest order such were the number of chances missed at both ends!”

Town don’t have long to seek revenge over the side who pipped them to the top honour last season for they meet against this Saturday in Seaton. Stunell says: “We have a couple of players back this weekend and we’ll train hard, very hard after some of the things I saw at the weekend, and then be ready for another big game. This is now one we simply have to win for I am not happy seeing a Seaton Town side in tenth in the Fresha League top flight. We need to kick start our season and putting one over St Martins would be a great way to start.”
