Seaton bowlers into uncharted Interclub waters!

Seaton bowlers were beaten on a visit to Exmouth club, Phear Park, writes Maria Johnson.

In a four-rink meeting the Seaton team on duty were D Millard, A Carter, P Grigg and J Allison.

The following day Ilminster were the visitors and Seaton sealed a narrow 51-47 success with the top home rink comprising of A White, K Harris, D Morley and R Carnell.

The men’s Over-60s played Belmont on Wednesday and banked six of the eight points on offer. Here the top Seaton rink was the one of P Newton, K Shean and L Tooze.

The club’s ladies travelled to a neutral venue, in this case Topsham, to take on Ivybridge in the Interclub competition and racked up a superb 50-27 victory.

The winning rink, claiming a 33-7 success, were A Mayhew, R Grigg and L Stone.

Then team had a large number of travelling support with them and everyone enjoyed the trip!

The TCL team travelled to Ottery where they won on three of the four rinks contested, but lost overall 88-80!

The successful Seaton rink was the one comprising A Mayhew, R Grigg, D Yardley and L Tooze.

On Saturday Nomads, a team drawn from the counties of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset, pitched up at Seaton. Nomads come together top play matches to specifically raise funds for charity.

Seaton won an entertaining encounter 124-119 and £60 was raised via a raffle.

The top home rink was the one of N Stone, E Talbot, H Smith and J Veith.
