On Saturday, 44 members of Seaton bowling club came together to open the green for the coming season, playing a rinks variation of five ends on one rink then moving along to another rink and playing different opposition.
Captain of the day, Pat Whitworth, kept everything running smoothly and presented the winning quartet Ron Rowley, Marion Stananought, Glen Elliott, and Terry Hurley-Smith, with the prizes of bottles of wine.
This was the first game in two years with no Covid restrictions overshadowing the occasion, hand-shakes and hugs with old friends making it feel like a return to normality.
The green played superbly in its second season after being completely re-laid, well done and a big thank you to Terry and Peter for all the hard work in preparing an excellent surface. Thanks to Lynn and Christine for running the bar, let's hope the club has a successful season with all players enjoying their bowls.
