Archant

Seaton Bowling Club launched a new season last Saturday, writes Linda Stone.

The opening drive saw Seaton Town Mayor, Peter Burrows, send the first wood down the rink.

He was joined for the occasion by club president Angie Mayhew and captain Jeremy Allison.

The sun shone, but the north wind meant it was rather chilly!

There was a good turn out and a friendly, but competitive atmosphere.

With several new members swelling the ranks, the competition was very exciting.

The eventual winner for the men was Norman Stone with Gill Sykes winning for the ladies.

This Saturday (May 4), the club is holding an open morning from 10am to 12.

The club is keen to welcome new members and if you would like to join a friendly club and see if bowls is indeed for you then why not pop along.

All you will need is a pair of flat soled shoes, all other equipment will be provided by the club.
