There was great frustration for all at Seaton when the senior side banked 20 points from their D Division derby game at home to Feniton, but then learnt that promotion chasing rivals Shaldon had matched that tally with a win over Filleigh.

It means there’s no change in the table placings and Seaton head into the final day of the season on Saturday having to get three more points from their game at second bottom Countess Wear then Shaldon get from their visit to a Honiton side who secure their D Division place last weekend.

Mike Wheeler (47) and Stephen Pritchard (40) were the main run providers in a Seaton total of 204.

Joe Berry then claimed a fivefer, finishing with figures of 5-42 whilst Phil Collins bagged a brace for 29 runs and Feniton, battling for their lives to stay in the section, were bowled out for 179 leaving Seaton 25-run winners.

There’s little doubt that as much as Seaton will be looking to do the business at Countess Wear, there will no doubt be a hot line between them and Mountbatten Park where they will hope for a favour from Honiton.
