Over the Easter holidays, seven colts from Seaton CC attended a Young Leaders Course at Ottery St Mary cricket club.
The day-long course included aspects of umpiring, scoring, groundskeeping and coaching.
Several of the boys have since begun helping run training sessions for the younger age groups at the club.
Seaton CC were able to help fund the boys attendance on the course due to support from main sponsor Chris Hammett.
Chairman Andrew Carter said: "Chris's sponsorship is enabling us to invest in, amongst other things, our colts to help develop the club for the future.
“This investment is beginning to bear fruit as last weekend 14-year-old Reid Mawdsley scored his first hundred, with 109* playing for East Devon U15s."
?Anyone interested in playing youth cricket is welcome to come along to colts’ training nights from 4.30-6pm.
U11s and U13s train on Thursdays, with U15s and the seniors on Wednesdays. For further information contact Stephen@gingercoaching.com
