Seaton kept their C Division East promotion hopes alive with an eight wicket mauling of Kentisbeare.

The Mid Devon side were put into bat and soon struggling in the face of some disciplined home bowling.

Joel Seward led the honours with the ball, claiming four wickets for just 31 runs and skipper Ben Morgan chipped in with a brace at a cost of 14 runs, figures slightly bettered by Ben Libby with his 2-12.

A visiting total of 134 was never going to test then home side and so it proved as Morgan, leading by example, hit an unbeaten 37 and Seward was still there also at the end, undefeated on 35 as an eight wicket win was wrapped up in double quick time.

The 20 points that Morgan’s men banked from the game leaves them fourth in the table at the two-thirds stage of the campaign. They sit 37 points shy of second placed Uplyme. However, this Saturday the top two meet with Ottery St Mary at Uplyme and therefore if Seaton can win well at Filleigh then they will be firmly entrenched in a promotion race over the remaining five games.
