Seaton Bowling Club held two open mornings recently, writes Linda Stone.
Although the weather wasn’t brilliant there was a good response and coaching for new members started on Monday, May 18.
There will now be two further open sessions when anyone can come along and try the game for free, on the evening of Friday, June 5 at 5pm or the morning of Saturday, June 6 at 10am.
The first game of the week was a friendly men’s triples game against Chardstock at home. Seaton losing by just two shots, 67 shots to 65. Seaton’s top triple was Ian Manchester, Roy Sykes and Reg Pluck.
The ladies Over-50s Blue team played Sidmouth and, after a very close fought contest, Seaton won one triple and also took the overall win 36 shots to 28. The winning triple was Lilian Hurley-Smith, Marian Vessey and Di Morley.
