Following a round trip of 90 miles, Seaton A returned home victors winning by 12 shots (41 – 29) against North Tawton B in the Over-60s Triples League. The top triple was Peter Newton, Ron Rowley and Les Tooze. Seaton A remain unbeaten this season having strung together 17 consecutive victories with the final league game due to be played on September 4, at home to Ottery St Mary A.

Following a two rink defeat to leaders Chardstock A the previous week, Seaton Over-60s B dropped to third place, having held second for most of the league programme. This week they won at home against Ottery B, winning by a large margin, 33-7, on one rink (E Backhouse, B Scull and DYardley), but narrowly losing on the other. Would the six points be enough to overtake Chagford? In the event it was, as Chagford lost away at Phear Park. Seaton B regained second place and won promotion for the second time in three years!

Two friendly games were played this week. Unfortunately Seaton came second in both!

Against Bridport we lost 78-63 the top Seaton rink was Geoff Fullalove, Ray Thompson, Pat Whitworth and Dave Yardley winning by nine shots. The Sunningdale Tourists won 80-71 shots, Seaton’s top rink was Bob Venn, Roy Sykes, Sue B-Moore and John Vieth winning by six shots.
