The last game of the season for the under-9s in the East Devon league and all eyes were watching an exciting and nail-biting final. The Honiton team started strongly but could not get through the defence of Will Campbell and Lewis Franklin. Eventually, the Honiton striker, Cameron Long, scored a beautiful goal from just past the half way line. The Seaton goalie Ricky Littley was not going to risk any more and made tremendous saves. Callum Wood and Ben Franklin tried to equalise in the first half, but the Honiton defenders were too strong. In the second half, Seaton took control and, with a long pass from Oliver Browne, Lewis Pearson scored. The rest of the game was an equal split and it was only in the last 30 seconds, when Seaton were awarded a corner, that they took their chance to win the game. It was a wonderful game and is the first time that Seaton have had the opportunity of winning the silverware in the six years that the cup game has been played. Man of the match: Lewis Pearson. Seaton Town are always on the lookout for new players so, if you are interested in joining a team please telephone Andrew Franklin on (01297) 22508. Training is monday nights at Elizabeth Road, Seaton.Pictured: Andrew Franklin (manager) Callum Wood, Will Campbell, Lewis Pearson, Thomas Bush, Graham Wood (manager).
