Seaton Town Under-12s made a terrific start to their Exeter and District Youth League campaign with a 6-2 success at Twyford Spartans.

Jack White led the scoring honours with a four goal hail as the Tiverton side struggled to contain the lively youngster.

The pick of the White haul was a sublime free-kick that saw that ball arrow into the back of the Spartans net. Billy Gait also got on the score sheet – his goal was a bullet header from a Zac Hawkins corner.

The other Seaton goal was turned past his own keeper by a home player. Amongst many fine individual performances was the one produced by Libby Matthews who came off the bench to play an important role on the wing.

A delighted Seaton coach, John Gait said: “The whole team put a really good shift in and must collectively take the credit for a superb opening game win. One player who really does deserve extra special mention though is Libby (Matthews). She came off the bench and really delivered her finest performance to date in a Seaton shirt.”
